The Role:
Our Engineering team is growing and we are looking for a strong WordPress Developer who has a passion for building reliable, highly scalable, and robust systems. What you will be doing:
  • Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain and improve software applications.
  • Gather and refine specifications and requirements based on technical needs.
  • Participating in thoughtful code reviews to encourage better software development practices, while supporting your team's knowledge growth.
  • Managing and coaching people in your team while defaulting to collaborating and pair-programming with teammates, in order to solve problems on hand.
  • Assist in effectively diagnosing and troubleshooting problems with the product.
  • You will ensure that your team strikes a good balance between testing coverage and development speed, and will be advocating for test-driven development.
  • Write well designed, testable, efficient code by using best software development practices.
  • You have experience using WordPress, PHP, CSS3, HTML5, Bootstrap, and SQL to build scalable and maintainable software. 
  • Help identify and solve application issues experienced internally and externally.
  • You will create and maintain software documentation.

We'll be reaching out to applicants who have:
  • Full Stack WordPress experience with 3+ years within the WordPress ecosystem and various open-source PHP eCommerce solutions. Experience building many complex websites, WordPress custom code integration, and ideally experience with multi-vendor eCommerce sites.
  • Extensive experience in PHP; ideally other backend languages as well. 
  • Experience with CSS3, HTML5, Bootstrap, and ability to implement designs.
  • Experience with SQL and with database structuring is required.
  • Experience with Quality Assurance & high attention to detail is required.
  • Experience with source control (git/svn).
  • Ability to move quickly and to be highly adaptable on priorities.
  • Ability to self-manage and manage up and across in an organization.
  • Experience with project management tools and tactics to keep the team on track (spreadsheets, tracking software, scrum / agile methodology, etc) is considered a bonus.
  • Knowledge of React, react-native is considered a bonus.
